Room Size vs Pool Table Size
This chart shows how much room you need in order to play comfortably. A good rule of thumb is to give yourself five feet around the edge of the table. The standard length of a cue is 57" though other sizes are available for smaller rooms.
Choosing A Pool Table Size
Don't let the need to use shorter cues for a few shots force you into a smaller table than you would like. You don't have to settle for a 7 foot "bar" table when using shorter cues could allow you to accomodate an 8 foot table. The game is very different on a smaller tables and larger sized tables tend to be much more challenging and enjoyable.
